Class Routines

Children need their PE Kit in school for their weekly lessons - anyone unwell for a lesson must bring a note.

Indoor PE is on a Thursday and Outdoor PE will be on a Friday.

Children go to the hall for their dinner from 12.10pm each day on a rota basis. Children in clubs or the football league may be given permission for an early lunch.

Each week one child from each class will be selected for 'always doing the right thing' and will go to ALWAYS CLUB for an hour on Friday afternoon.

Each week two children from each class will be selected to receive an award in our "Celebration Assembly". These are awarded outstanding contributions throughout the week.

Curriculum Enrichment

Each term we try to help 'bring the curriculum to life' with an extra activity whether it be a trip, visit or visitor. We appreciate that these additional items often have a cost but they are an essential part of our successful school.

Planned items for Year 6 are:

World Upside Art Workshops - September

World Upside Down Exhibition - Friday 20th October

INTO Film  Festival - 9th November

Whitby - November (£155)

City Trail - June

Year 6 Fun Day - July - TBC

Homework

Year 6 children are expected to study independently but may need to be helped with this process and should still be encouraged and supported to read every night.

There will be 2 pieces of homework each week, which will be set on a Friday and returned by Friday. These will often be an English task on 'Bug Club' and a Maths task on 'My Maths'. Sometimes tasks will be set in other areas of the curriculum using DB Primary, our Learning Platform.

Year 6 pupils may also receive a reading comprehension and maths task on a weekly basis.
