Class Routines

Children need their PE Kit in school for their weekly lessons - anyone unwell for a lesson must bring a note. Outdoor PE is on Wednesdays and Indoor PE is on Thursdays.

Swimming in Year 4 will happen in the Spring term, each class going for half a term.

The children should bring a water bottle in every day.

Children go to the hall for their dinner from 12-10pm each day on a rota basis. Children in clubs  may be given permission for an early lunch.

Each week one child from each class will be selected for 'always doing the right thing' and will go to ALWAYS CLUB for an hour on Friday afternoon.

Reminder of child collection: If your child is going to be picked up by anyone other than the regular carer you need to inform the class teacher or the office before the end of school. If the class teacher is unaware of any arrangements they will need to phone you to confirm this is agreed. Please make sure the class teacher knows who will be picking up your child to save any problems at the end of the day.

Curriculum Enrichment

Each term we try to help 'bring the curriculum to life' with an extra activity whether it be a trip, visit or visitor. We appreciate that these additional items often have a cost but they are an essential part of our successful school.

Planned items include for Year 4 are:

Performing the Christmas Nativity

Ukulele Club

Malham Residential Visit - 4DB Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th June and 4SB Thursday 7th and Friday 8th June 2018.

Homework

Year 4 children should be encouraged and supported to read every night.

There will be 2 pieces of homework each week, which will be set on a Monday and returned by Friday. These will often be an English task on 'Bug Club' and a Maths task on 'My Maths' or Active Learn. Sometimes tasks will be set in other areas of the curriculum using DB Primary, our Learning Platform. There is an opportunity for children to complete online homework on a Wednesday dinner time if they do not have access to a PC at home.

There will be 3 Learning Logs set over the year. These will be related to one of the units of work that has been studied and may be completed in any style or using any media that the child prefers.
