Saffron - Miss Ward

Ochre - Mrs Conaghan

Class Routines

Children need their PE Kit in school for their weekly lessons - anyone unwell for a lesson must bring a note.

PE Days

Ochre - Monday and Friday

Saffron - Monday and Wednesday

Citrine - Wednesday and Friday

Milk is taken after playtime by those registered with 'CoolMilk' and free fruit/vegetables are available for all to eat at playtime.

Children go to the hall for their dinner at 12:20pm each day. Meals are free for all.

Each week two children from each class will be selected to receive an award in our Celebration Assembly. Throughout the week, children earn dojo points for good behaviour, hard work and helping others. The two children with the most points receive a 'dip in the box' at the end of each week.

Curriculum Enrichment

Each term we try to help 'bring the curriculum to life' with an extra activity whether it be a trip, visit or visitor. We appreciate that these additional items often have a cost but they are an essential part of our successful school.

Planned items for Year 2 are:

Thwaite Mills Watermill Museum - January 2019

Year 2 children should be encouraged and supported to read every night.

Homework will be set on a Friday to be returned by the following Thursday. These will often be a spelling task based on the spelling rule children have been learning and a Maths task to be completed in their homework book.

Mid-term there will be a LEARNING LOG set. This will be related to one of the units of work that has been studied and may be completed in any style or using any media that the child prefers.
