Autumn 2 in RRE!

Our Topic

This half term the children have chosen 'Hospitals' as their topic. We have already been very busy in our hospital role play area caring for those around us. We are looking forward to some special visitors coming in over the next few weeks to share their jobs with us linking to hospitals, doctors and baby clinics.

During our topic we have been talking about how we can care for others and how we can stay healthy. The children made some lovely healthy eating plates and we talked about why healthy eating is important. We had a circle time and shared some ideas about keeping safe. We thought it was important to "stop, look and listen" when crossing the road, wear our seatbelt and stay with our grown ups when out and about.

We have also been busy thinking about our bones. We looked at some x-ray pictures together and had a go at feeling the bones in our hands. We then used black paper and cotton buds to make our own hand x-ray. During the week we also made some body x-rays using playdough.
