Welcome to our school's website

Award winning Gledhow Primary is situated in the North of Leeds on Lidgett Lane, LS8. We are a school where children learn in a happy, caring and secure environment.

Everyone is encouraged and challenged to aim for the best that they can achieve in all that they do.

Our school develops independence in learning and values this equally alongside academic achievement in all areas of the curriculum.

Gledhow offers very high educational standards, an excellent enriched curriculum and an environment rich in the sports and arts.

Children in Need Bun Sale - 18/11/16

Year 6 children did a fantastic job of organising our annual bun sale. They baked some delicious treats, set up both classrooms, made posters and left some very satisfied customers.
They managed to raise a whopping £105 for Children in Need!
Well done!

Mrs McCann and Mr Dickson's Retirement - 29/4/17

Over 500 children from Nursery to Reception, with 100+ staff and visitors were packed into our brand new double hall on Friday April 28th, 2017 to commemorate and celebrate Mrs McCann and Mr Dickson's retirement. This special assembly was blessed with many amazing moments, including perfromances from ex-pupils Jake and Imogen, and the Gledhow staff dancing on video to 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'. A wonderful day of tears, laughter, love and great memories for two very special teachers.

Wonderful World Book Day - 3rd March 2017

What a wonderful time we all had for World Book Day. Children and staff dressed up as nearly every literary character under the sun, including St George (without the dragon), Little Red Riding Hood, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, Belle, Wally, Captain America, Snow White, The Mad Hatter, Robin Hood, Cinderella, Thing 1 and 2, Long John Silver, Jack (without his beanstalk), The Enormous Crocodile, Elma the Elephant, Spiderman, Aslan the Lion, James Bond and many many more.

Teachers shared their favourite authors with children in assembly (Roald Dahl being a big favourite) and we all enjoyed a fantastic time after school, exploring the PSA's Book Trail. The miserable wet weather was unable to dampen our spirits and many of us went home with happy smiles from school on Friday evening, with our love of reading enhanced !!!
